“A song is only a song, if it feels like a sculpted little object. You should be able to pick it up and feel it, and put your coffee cup on top of it, or bash your head up against it.” Trained under Dusan Boganovic and Apostolos Paraskevas in the classical tradition, Moses has recently reached back into the American roots music that brought him to the guitar in the first place. From blues masters like Mississippi John Hurt and Skip James, to 60s folk legends Woody Guthrie and Townes Van Zandt, to contemporaries such as Tom Waits and Kelly Joe Phelps, Moses Atwood is carving his tremendous raw talent into a powerful, yearning musical voice. Over the next several years he plans to sculpt a truly great contribution to American music.
